How it began

Fiona Theresa Rhiannon was born Nov/16/06 she weighed 7lbs. 5oz.

She was born by c-section because she was in the breech position.

When she was born the nurse told me that she would have a funny shaped head for a while because she was stuck under my rib cage.

She was (is) a pretty fussy baby. I had her to our wonderful family Doctor...Dr. Molnar and she sent us to a pediatrician, we found out that Fiona was a bit colic and also that her "metopic" plate in her skull had fused. Fiona was born with a noticeable ridge down her forehead to her nose. We asked the pediatrician what this meant and he told us not to worry...it was a "cosmetic" problem and just monitor it. Well I got home and started to Google "metopic" and what I found out is that it's only fixable by surgery. What the correct name for it is Metopic Craniosynostosis with trigonocephaly what it means in English is that the part of her skull in the front has fused early, this has caused her eyes to be very close together and he skull from above looks like a triangle shape.
